December 9, 2014 – Temporary Delays of Landsat 8 Processing

As of December 9, 2014 at 00:00 UTC (6:00 pm CST), Landsat 8 operations staff began necessary TIRS testing which caused a delay in the routine processing of OLI/TIRS image data. Landsat 8 has continued to acquire OLI and TIRS instrument data according to normal scheduling. However, as part of the calibration testing, nominal TIRS calibration collects will not be acquired. There will be another delay in processing starting the afternoon of December 9, 2014 while TIRS data quality is checked. The testing will be completed late Friday, December 12, 2014 and nominal calibrations will resume at that time.

An update to this notice will be provided when testing is completed.
