Landsat International Ground Station Network

The map below illustrates the Landsat Ground Network and the currently active International Cooperator Network ground stations. Each station directly receives and distributes data from Landsat satellites on a daily basis. Government organizations interested in joining the Landsat International Cooperator Network for direct reception of Landsat 8 and/or Landsat 9 can learn more about the process and advantages on the Benefits of Becoming an International Cooperator webpage.

Landsat Ground Network Stations are located in the United States (Alaska and South Dakota), Australia, Germany and Norway and serve as the primary data acquisition and Telemetry, Tracking, and Control facilities for active Landsat missions.

Active International Ground Stations are operated by a foreign government or organization that partners with the USGS. They extend Landsat's global reach by supporting regional data acquisition, processing and distribution.

Historical International Ground Stations, while no longer in a formal active partnership with the USGS, have downlinked Landsat data at various points throughout Landsat's more than 50-year mission.
