Indonesian National Institute of Aeronautics and Space (LAPAN) is the Indonesian government space agency. LAPAN has experience in remote sensing field. Deputy of Remote Sensing Affairs consist of Remote Sensing Technology and Data Center, and Remote Sensing Application Center.
LAPAN provides remote sensing services such as :
Earth monitoring and information systems for natural disasters mitigation;
Remote sensing data services;
Natural resources inventory;
Remote sensing programs to support business;
Remote sensing innovation and creativity;
Developing of Remote sensing technology; and
Remote sensing training and other activities.
LAPAN Ground Station has capacities for receiving, processing, and distributing satellite data. The Ground Stations are located at Parepare-South Sulawesi, Rumpin-West Java, and Pekayon-Jakarta. It currently receive remote sensing data satellites from LANDSAT-7/8, SPOT-6/7, PLEIADES-1A/1B, TerraSAR-X, TanDEM-X , Suomi NPP, Aqua/Terra, NOAA-18/19, Metop-A/B, Himawari-8.
