Acquisition

Today’s Scene Capture Schedules
View the scenes to be acquired today. Landsat 7 collects approximately 250 scenes per day, in accordance with the Long Term Acquisition Plan (LTAP). Landsat 5 must be in direct contact with a ground receiving station in order to capture an image. Scenes are generally available for search and order within 6-24 hours after downlink.

Long Term Acquisition Plan (LTAP)
Directs the acquisition of Landsat 7 scenes, using parameters dealing with seasonality, land definition, historical cloud cover, gain settings, and sun angle.

Landsat 7 Data Acquisition Map
Shows the total number of scenes acquired globally by Landsat 7 from June 29, 1999 through September 30, 2005.

Statistics of the data archived at the USGS Center for EROS, as recorded by the National Satellite Land Remote Sensing Data Archive.
