Landsat Science Team Introduction

To address the goals of the Landsat Data Continuity Mission (LDCM), a team of scientists and engineers has been selected to investigate and advise the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) and NASA on issues critical to the success of this endeavor. (USGS Official Press Release)

The success of the LDCM mission will be marked by the complete integration of LDCM data with past, present, and future remotely sensed data for the purpose of monitoring global environmental systems. Specific Landsat Science Team measures of success include:

This team will also contribute to the broader understanding of the opportunities for cooperation with other Earth observation missions.

The Landsat Science Team combines USGS-based leadership, USGS and NASA agency scientists, and a group of external scientists and application specialists.

The external members of the Landsat Science Team consist of Principle Investigators (PIs) representing the larger Landsat science and applications community. Members of the Landsat Science Team, with their primary study areas are:
