Landsat Search and Download

New Bulk Download tool for Landsat Free Data - When you click on this link, it will take you to an EarthExplorer login page. Please use your normal username and password. If this is your first time logging in, selecting the "Register here" link on the login page will take you through the complete registration process. You will need a list of Scene IDs prepared to upload into the bulk download tool.

Before downloading Landsat data, it is important to understand that a number of files will be included, and how the individual band files work together in image processing software to create a final RGB color image.

There are no restrictions on Landsat data downloaded from USGS EROS, and it can be used or redistributed as desired.

• A statement of the data source when citing, copying, or reprinting USGS Landsat data or images is requested; details are on the EROS Data Citation page.

Glovis (http://glovis.usgs.gov), EarthExplorer (http://earthexplorer.usgs.gov) and New EarthExplorer (http://edcsns17.cr.usgs.gov/NewEarthExplorer/) all allow searching and downloading of the Landsat dataset collections held in the USGS EROS archives.

• Scenes already processed are ready for immediate download; other scenes can be processed within about 3 days as requests are submitted, using these same websites. (Please refer to the Help Section of each site for searching and downloading assistance.)

Imagery not found in the USGS EROS archive may have been collected by one of the USGS International Cooperator (IC) ground stations, each of which are the primary source of distributing data collected at their location - http://landsat.usgs.gov/about_ground_stations.php.
