The Landsat Archive

The chart below displays the number of scenes visible to all users on EarthExplorer as of April 30, 2014, and also compares the number available, to what was in the archive at the end of December 2013.

As expected, Landsat 8 and Landsat 7 acquisitions constantly increase the number of available scenes in the USGS archives. The Landsat Global Archive Consolidation (LGAC) effort has added more than 18,000 Landsat 4-5 TM scenes and more than 24,000 Landsat 1-5 MSS scenes to the USGS archives within the first four months of 2014.
